At Food of the Downs we take guests health and safety very seriously and have put in place a number of steps to keep everyone as safe as possible, including our guest and staff, in response to COVID-19. We follow the most up to date advice from the government and NHS.

Please do not arrive if you have shown any symptoms of COVID -19 within the last 14 days.

If any guests start to show symptoms when staying with us, please notify us immediately, leave the Foot of the Downs site to self-isolate at home and arrange to an NHS COVID-19 test. You must not self-isolate in your accommodation.

Check-in and check-out

We operate a self check in and check out system to minimise person to person contact. An e-mail with instructions will be sent out a few days before your arrival. Each accommodation will have a dedicated wheelbarrow for luggage transport, please use and sanitise after use.

Social distancing

We ask all customers social distance when moving around the Foot of the Downs site. When in communal areas, such as the car park and bike shack there is plenty of outdoor space and social distancing signs will be available for guests to see.

Bike shed

Only one person to use the bike shed at a time and to hand sanitise when entering and leaving. Hand sanitiser is available by the bike shed for guests use. After using the bike locks please sanitise using the wipes available.

The area will be cleaned and sanitised by staff regularly.

Guests are asked to leave by 10.30 am and not arrive before 3pm so we have time to ventilate and deep clean the accommodation.

Cleaning checklists within the accommodation will be completed by staff and visible by guests.

All staff will wear appropriate PPE and have been trained on the correct handwashing, PPE disposal and wellbeing checks.

Each accommodation has its own dedicated cleaning material supply (complying to BS EN 1276) and will not be shared.

All bed linen/laundry is washed on a full 60 degree wash cycle.

During your stay

Antibacterial hand soap is available in the bathrooms for guests use. Please wash hands regularly.

Hand sanitiser is available in each accommodation unit, please use when entering and leaving your accommodation.

Please open doors and windows for ventilation as often as possible, weather permitting.

At the end of your stay, please leave the accommodation clean and tidy.

To avoid contamination, some soft furnishings, leaflets, magazines and other items may have been removed prior to your arrival. For example we are not able to provide board games so please bring your own during this time.
